Just listening to the podcast now. You mentioned we are either in the Roman or the Julian calendar, which changes year mid-winter. Actually, we use the Gregorian Calendar, which was instituted by Pope Gregory XIII who was spurred to action because the date for Easter had been drifting over the centuries due to a leap year error in the Julian calendar. For more information than you probably want, visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregorian_calendar

Cheers, and keep the interesting podcasts coming. I'm a computer programmer and usually not very linguistic.

Thanks, John. I realized about a day and a half after we recorded that I was really thinking of the Gregorian calendar. I appreciate your including the link to the Wikipedia piece as well.

Hi there!

I've been here for a while but I realize it was the first time I heard Barbara in the show! Thought it was a nice addition and you two have a good chemistry (professionally speaking, OK?), so I hope she can came back for even more sometimes!

I was about to talk about the Gregorian calendar, but John got here first! No problems, it's good to see people are really listening the show and not just downloading!

All right! Time to go! Keep up the good work!
